Ingredients:
2 cups cooked beans (black beans, pinto beans, or butter beans)
3 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 medium onion, chopped
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste (optional)
Instructions:
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
Add minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until golden and aromatic.
Add chopped onion to the skillet and continue sautéing until the onion becomes soft and translucent.
Add the cooked beans to the skillet and mix well.
Season with salt to taste. If desired, add pepper to taste for a spicy kick.
Cook for a few more minutes, stirring occasionally, to allow the flavors to blend well.
Transfer the mixture to a food processor and process until you achieve a creamy paste. Optionally, you can mash the beans with a fork or a potato masher. If necessary, add a little more olive oil to reach the desired consistency.
Taste and adjust the seasonings as needed.
The seasoned bean paste is ready to be served as a spread on bread, toast, or as a flavorful side dish.
